We are thrilled to introduce our newest Core Faculty member, Dr. Annette de Kloet, Ph.D., who has joined GSU this Fall as an Associate Professor in Neuroscience. Dr. de Kloet brings a wealth of expertise from her previous role as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Aging at the University of Florida.
Her pioneering research endeavors to unravel the intricate neural circuits governing cardiovascular function, energy metabolism, and stress-related behavior. Specifically, Dr. de Kloet is dedicated to understanding how these vital circuits are impacted by cardiometabolic conditions like obesity and hypertension. Her work places a particular emphasis on the influence of endocrine systems, such as the renin-angiotensin aldosterone system.
Ultimately, Dr. de Kloet’s mission goes beyond unraveling mechanisms; it aims to revolutionize therapeutic approaches for metabolic and cardiovascular disorders. The entire CNCD team is enthusiastic about the invaluable contributions Dr. de Kloet will bring to our research community.
Warmest welcome, Dr. Annette de Kloet! We look forward to embarking on this exciting journey of discovery and innovation together.
